Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you and your families had a joyful and restful summer. As we prepare to welcome our scholars back to P.S. 103, we are filled with hope and excitement for a successful school year ahead.
The 2025–2026 school year begins on Thursday, September 4, 2025. At P.S. 103, we remain committed to providing your children with the best opportunities to grow academically, emotionally, and socially—just as we have for many years.
As part of our continued efforts to support student well-being, we are pleased to offer a warm breakfast starting Monday, September 8th to students in grades 2 through 5, replacing the grab-and-go option that has been in place in recent years. 3K through 1st grade will continue to have breakfast in the classroom upon arrival at 8:00am.
To accommodate this breakfast initiative, the 229th Street entrance will open at 7:30 a.m. and close for breakfast promptly at 7:50 a.m. It is essential that students arrive during this window to ensure they have enough time to eat and be in their classrooms by 8:00 a.m.
Grade 2-5 students will line up on 229th Street near the gate:
- Grades 2 and 3 will line up toward Carpenter Avenue
- Grades 4 and 5 will line up toward Bronx Boulevard
If your child arrives after 7:50 a.m. when breakfast has closed:
- Grades 2 and 3 should enter through the Main Entrance on Carpenter Ave.
- Grades 4 and 5 should enter through the 229th Street entrance.
Again, I want to remind you that this breakfast plan will be in place starting Monday, September 8th.
On September 4th and 5th , please follow the following plans for arrival at 8:00am:
- 3K-PK - separate email sent with staggered time
- Kindergarten and First Grade - School Yard on Bronx Boulevard
- Second and Third Grade - Main Entrance on Carpenter Avenue
- Fourth and Fifth Grade - 229thStreet Entrance
Thank you in advance for your support in making this breakfast initiative a success. Together, we
can ensure our scholars start each day nourished and ready to learn.
